Economy

Israel’s GDP (money the county produces per year) is 318.7 billion dollars and it’s GDP per capta (money each person produces per year) is 373.292,61 dollars and for a population of 8,547 million people those numbers are very high.

Israel's coin is the shekel. One dollar is worth 0.887389635496 shekels and one real is worth 3.53456808.

Technology

Israel is a very technologic country and it is sometimes referred to as “startup nation” thanks to the large number of entrepreneurs who have set up businesses there, particularly in cities such as Tel Aviv. Also because it`s shocking how Israel is a small country with 8.5 million people, only 67 years, in a constant state of war since its founding, with no natural resources and produces more start-up companies than large, peaceful, and stable nations.

Look what University Technion made for Pessach in 2015.

One famous app that an israeli created (Uri Levine) is "Waze". It can tell you the better way to go some place. It shows you the places with traffic jams and helps you go to the better way. It is very intelligent. With the app, people can avoid stress and violence. And the best thing, it’s for free!

Conflict

Israel has a huge conflict with Palestine. Israel is the world's only Jewish state, located just east of the Mediterranean Sea. Palestinians, the Arab population that hails from the land Israel now controls, refer to the territory as Palestine, and want to establish a state by that name on all or part of the same land. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is over who gets what land and how it's controlled.

News

The news in Israel are mostly about their conflict with Palestine, that we talked about on the topic above. The most famous english newspaper in Israel is The Jerusalem Post. It's in English and in French and it's original name is "the palestine post".
